Hi, I’m Katherine — and I’m a little bit lost. Not in a bad way. In the best way, actually.
I’m from Arkansas, but for as long as I can remember, Japan has felt like somewhere I was always meant to find my way to. It started with the language — the rhythm of it, the elegance, the way meaning seems to live in every syllable. I didn’t understand it at first, but I didn’t need to. I was already drawn in.
That curiosity has taken me further than I ever expected — through years of studying, across an ocean, and now to a crossroads that I’m documenting right here, one post at a time.
Lost in Translation: Where Language Leads Me is my space to write about language learning, teaching, cultural experiences, and the journey of finding meaning in unfamiliar places. I’m not an expert — just someone learning slowly and enthusiastically, and choosing to get a little lost along the way.
— Katherine, somewhere in Arkansas, waiting for an email ❤
